A Sunday afternoon...
Jennifer is sorting through her things. She's decided its time to "put away childish things" and move into a new phase of her life. Toys, games, clothes and trinkets are all being looked at. Some will go to Goodwill, some will go to other family members, some will be junked. Her apartment is spacious by apartment standards, but it still won't hold everything.I talked to my baby brother last night. I have four younger brothers, this one is the youngest. We talked music, family, music, life, music, politics, music, religion, music, death, music and taxes. We both had to give it up about 12:30 after midnight! LOL. He enjoyed the girls' visit when they came through on the Family Highway. That's what he calls it - relatives are strung all across the USA and none of our family ever spends the night in a hotel when driving across country. Life is being good to him and he's playing music again. I was treated to his rendition of Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" on electric guitar. The kid has talent . Leslie called to wish us happy holidays. She's off to Easter dinner at one of her buddies' homes. Our Easter dinner consisted of homemade spaghetti, parmesan bread and peach streusel for dessert. Usually, I'd do a more traditional thing, but with Jenny popping up earlier than expected, we're in a rush to move forward at her timetable. She's heading into work early, they asked if she could come sooner. I'm sort of doing some laundry and a little housework. Not enough to really qualify as cleaning house. Just some pickup here and there. Echo and Flint are enjoying the fresh air, I opened my office window and both dog noses are glued to the windowsill, sniffing the outside world and fascinated by what they can see and smell. Other than that, a quiet Sunday afternoon, despite the fact Jenny's moving on Wednesday.

Apartment hunting...
I forgot to mention we drove to the city and spent half a day apartment hunting with Jenny. Her new employer hired an agent to take us around. The woman did a great job and we enjoyed the experience. Jenny found a nice apartment with a generous living room, a dining room, a kitchen, bathroom and one large bedroom. She also has a walk-in closet, a desk area set up in the bedroom with shelves, a nice sized bathroom and her own washer and dryer in the unit. She also requested the second floor for security reasons. Not bad for $815.00 a month in that high-cost-of-living city! In the future, she can have pets, so that's a big plus. The complex has a fitness room, swimming pool, game room, concierge service, business office (with conferencing room) and theater. All in all, a good deal.
